Nicole & Colin’s Wedding

It was a beautiful Sunday in early September, but with Saturday vibes since the following day was Labor Day. I was working with Lisa with Blush and Bloom Weddings and we were getting ready for the reception reveal. It’s one of the newer trends in a wedding day that I adore (along with a private vow exchange/first look, joining the last half of cocktail hour, and a private last dance) Couples are finally leaning into the notion that

1. This day should be spent together as much as possible

2. There needs to be moments together just the two of them sprinkled throughout the day (notwithstanding the paparazzi in the background with a large lens – that would be moi)

3. It’s the little moments like this that help them soak up the sheer greatness of the day without the welcomed distraction of the swarm of friends, family, and vendors around them

As they walked into the empty fully prepared reception space hand in hand, their eyes reflected the brilliance of the surroundings. Elegant florals were arranged beautifully, long sheer linen fabric was draped from the high ceilings, candles were flickering, the chalkboard artist had crafted a lovely portrait of their two beloved pups behind their sweetheart table, and the mouth watering smell of the catering from El Meson filled the room. It was a culmination of all of the planning and envisioning. It was gorgeous.

But from what I know about this couple, I suspect they will encounter many of their milestones with this same energy – the planning, the doing, and then (perhaps the best part) the enjoying the fruits of their time and labor. And I’m guessing they will still be hand in hand, eyes wide with excitement.

A big congrats Nicole and Colin! Cheers to this milestone and many, many more!
