It was a chilly afternoon on the eve of winter solstice. The breeze was cold and damp and the gray clouds in the sky seemed to gently fall upon the horizon. Brooke arrived to the park with her squad surrounding her while on a rounded teal bridge, back turned, waited her groom.
Matt was beaming, eager to finally see his stunning bride behind him. Brooke walked up the bridge and gently tapped him on his shoulder. As he turned around they embraced, eyes just as misty as the skies above them. And after portraits, when most everyone had left to go to the venue, Brooke and Matt had something beautiful planned. They had written their vows for an intimate, private, and intensely meaningful vow ceremony. And there the couple stood, underneath a small wooden shelter, surrounded by winter mist and a few witnesses that stood far enough back to give them their privacy. They told each other the things that may have been too personal to repeat in front of friends and family. They made promises from their heart and soul – and it was the most perfect visual representation of what the wedding day should be.
Brooke and Matt – it has been such an honor and pleasure getting to know you both. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. And I could tell from the way you structured your wedding day how deeply you care for one another – cheers to a New Year as husband and wife and many many more!!
