Everything about the Maternity session for Tara looked straight out a Fairy Tale. Her long wavy blond hair almost glistened in the last remaining light of a late Autumn’s day. The floral wreath looked as though it came from the wildflower field behind her. Her dress was the perfect shade of a soft nude pink, and the fabric flowed perfectly around her adorable little bump. I half expected butterflies to land on her shoulder or maybe some songbirds whistling a tune. And true to story, her Prince Charming was there, umbrella in hand, to keep her dry in the event of a downpour (for off in the distance were some dark clouds that matched the ominous forecast on all of our weather apps).
As we started the session, knowing that we had a limited amount of time, it was plain to see that this little Momma-to-Be seemed completely relaxed. She radiated joy, eager to relish the experience of a maternity session with her first born. Will was always close by, with the infamous umbrella (please ask Tara about the first date umbrella story) and looked upon his darling little wife, the Mother of his first born, with adoration. And then the storms rolled through.
But even fairy tales are like that sometimes, aren’t they? And perhaps even parenthood? Sometimes days are sunny with butterflies, and sometimes there are sprinkles, rain, and possibly downpours. But despite the dark skies, one thing seemed certain. The resiliency of this couple’s quest for joy could weather any storm, and I am so happy that they will be welcoming their precious baby girl in just a few short weeks.
Congratulations Tara and Will!
